Exactly what I needed
No extra AC power cord needed. My DVD player in my laptop went out and the laptop manufacturer wanted $450 for an in-case proprietary replacement. I use the DVD player a lot on the plane and unless I’m in first class, don’t have power. This one runs off the USB power. It’s very slim and not bulky. Just what I needed. I only have one question. Why don’t they sell this thing in computer retail stores. It’s a winner!
Update (5/20/2012): This item is currently on sale here for the lowest price I’ve seen. I also found some auctions for this item here.

Compact and useful
I was so pleased to have a CD ROM drive again (the one built in to my computer died ages ago). This little number is great! Absolutley reliable, perfect XP compatibility, and the USB connection makes it so easy — no extra power cords.
