Great drill and impact driver for the money
I purchased these for do it yourself projects around the house. I have not owned an impact driver before, and read a lot about them before deciding to purchase. So far, I have been amazed. The driver can easily drive in big screws with or without pilot holes. It’s noisy because of the impact mechanism, but it’s pretty surprising how well it works with no cam-out or bit stripping.
The lithium ion batteries charge in almost no-time (20-30 min), a huge improvement over my 6 hour craftsman drill charge cycle. The drill helps to drill accurate holes (something the impact driver is not so good at), and both are lightweight because of the lithium ion batteries. Overall I am very pleased. I purchased a milwaukee drill bit set and a hitachi driver set to go with these, and it has all been a huge improvement over my older tools.

good for the money
You get what you pay for, and that’s what you get here. A pretty good drill combo for the price. If you use a drill for a living, I’d look at a more expensive (and most likely better) combo.
The battery didn’t last long with auger bits going through joists for some wiring. I’d give it 3 stars for heavy duty jobs. For screws and regular drill bits, I’d give it 5 stars. I’m not sure how long the battery life is for basic screwing because I haven’t had any big jobs come up. I guess I’ll find out when I get around to drywalling my garage.
The impact driver is AMAZING! Usually when I drive screws into old wood, I have to get a lot of leverage and put a ton of pressure behind the drill, and it still strips the screw a little. But with the impact driver, I can be stretched out in hard to reach areas, and the screws go in with little effort.
If you are looking at a combo pack or are wondering why do I need 2 drills, beleive me, they will come in handy.
They are also fairly compact which helps with the weight and the getting into tight spaces.
A trade-off of power for convenience. If that’s ok with you then go for it.
One other thing. In researching Lithium Ion batteries, I found that they have a shelf life. In other words, the cells start dying immediately (anywhere from 5-20% per year I think, depending how they are used and stored). This combo is probably on close-out and was probably manufactured at least 2 or 3 years ago. Something to keep in mind. Wikipedia lithium-ion for some good research.

great set for the money
I bought this set after much research. I am a carpenter by trade and have
used bosch and makita lithium tools in commercial construction.
I was still using a 18v dewalt for home and sidework and I wanted something
lighter. This was perfect for me at this price. If the price was as high
as the white makita set I would have bought that just based on mak’s reputation. Since I bought this set I’ve ran large screws and tapcons
with the impact and pre-drilled with the drill. I’m very satisfied with
the initial performance, I’ll post if I have any problems.
