Good Product
Good item and appears to be good quality. Very simple to use and no setup. Actual useable hard drive space is 465gb. Very small, lightweight and super quiet. Included USB cord is only about 6 inches long. Has glossy finish.

This product is small and highly portable. I have owned mine for 4 months and I love it. I have had no problems unlike other drives I have owned. It works well with both of my PCs and also in my PS3. I am back here to buy another one! Oh and by the way it does not require external power which is awesome!

Awesome.
This is the way to go. I have tons of photos and music on my pc and everything is safe and secure now on my hard drive external. It worked like a champ. I had to restore my computer to factory settings because of some problems and once I did, I transferred everything back at home. I recommend this product.

I have had this product for about 1 year and just went to restore my files since i changed from XP to Windows 7…doesnt work…contacted Toshiba and they sent me info of what to do…doesnt work…have emailed them back saying thit it while I can download the files I cannot open them and am getting message that there was an error. Very disappointed. I would have backed up years of documents, contacts etc on dics if I had know this would be an issue. Will return the product but thast doesnt help my situation.

I have A Toshiba external 500mb hard drive hddr500e03x.and on it, alot of importnat work of mine has been saved/stored on it. since that time it has stopped opening . I do not want to lose this info on it, How can I either get information out of it or OPEN itto get info. ??

If the hard drive seems to function properly, but you just can’t read the data, you can try to use data recovery software. Do a Google search for it and pick something with a free trial so you can at least make sure you’ll be getting your data back before you pay. I haven’t looked that hard but I didn’t see a free option.

If your hard drive does not seem to function properly, like doesn’t turn on, or makes funny noises, you can try a hard drive data recovery service where you give them your hard drive and they recover the data for you.
