Great Socket, does what it says
I have been using different Gator Grip products for long. This is the larger size for larger bolts and nuts. I used the regular size more but this King size is no lesser value. I have nothing but positive things to say about King Gator but on the other hand I remember talking to someone who did not like it as much as I did. It turns out this guy used the tool with an air/impact gun , which is not recommended by the manufacturer. If you use it with regular 1/2″ wrench it works. Obviously the guy did not know what he was doing. If one is not careful enough to read the package I think whatever happens after is not manufacturer’s fault.
Like I said I use the 3/4″ size Gator Grip more but this King Size definetly is a great fit on larger applications. I do highly recommend it for stripped, damaged , rusted nuts and bolts, King Gator turns them without a lot of effort.

A great tool, but NOT FOR EVERY JOB.
After getting a Gator Grip tool for Christmas, and it being indispensable in two large projects–refitting new lumber on an old rotten picnic table, and in putting up a new garage door opener, I followed up with my own purchase of the King Gator–for larger nuts and bolts.
Keep in mind–IT’s NOT FOR EVERY JOB. Because the pins are cylindrical, it occasionally slips on the bolt head, and it lacks the gripping strength needed for working on something like your car engine, or lug nuts tightened with an air-hammer.
Even the King Gator will NOT remove a nut if there is a given length of bolt sticking out the back end. The pins can only retract so far.
HOWEVER, if you are up on a ladder, and/or working with many odd-sized nuts and bolts, this tool is a Godsend.
For overall home maintenance, play set assembly, garage door opener installation, or putting together knockdown furniture, the Gator Grip tools can’t be beat. (I only cussed about fourteen times while installing my new Garage door opener. That was a new record!)
As a GIFT, I’d recommend the standard Gator Grip tool (especially for those people who are NOT handy around the house.)
But if the gift-ee already has a Gator-Grip, this is a thoughtful and helpful idea.

Great tool!
I got this socket to see if she could remove a stripped nut on my lawnmower blade. The nut was in poor condition, and I considered cutting. I tried the Gator Grip and it worked like a charm. It can take the place of a complete socket set. Great tool!
