Freud LU98R010 10″ 80T Superior Laminate/Wood Blade

Outstanding blade for cutting plywood and melamine. Left absolutely no tear-out on bottom of either material. However, I am curious as to why Frued labled the blade as only “good” on cross-cutting wood. The cut is so smooth it feels like it was sanded. I would rate it “excellent” in this category as well. Finally, the blade runs quietly under load and while free-spinning. Not a cheap blade, but a great performer!

EXCELLENT MELAMINE BLADE
I HAD TO STOP AND WRITE A QUICK REVIEW OF THIS FREUD BLADE. IT REALLY IS A GREAT BLADE WHEN USED ON THE CORRECT MATERIAL. IT WORKS GREAT ON MELAMINE, LAMINATES.PATICLE BOARD AND BOTH HARD AND SOFT WOOD PLYWOODS. I LIKE IT ON DOUBLE SIDED LAMINATES SINCE I DONT GET THE CHIPPING. I NOTICED THAT ANOTHER WOOD WORKER TRIED USING IT ON HARDWOOD FLOORING, ITS NOT MADE FOR THAT AS THEY FOUND OUT IT DULLED RAPIDLY.ALSO THIS BLADE SHOULD NOT BE USED IN A RADIAL SAW OR SLIDING COMPOUND SAW. ANYWAY IF YOU NEED A GOOD BLADE TO CUT THE MATERIAL THAT I NAMED ABOVE AND YOU DONT WANT TO BREAK THE BANK THIS BLADE WILL SERVE YOU WELL. AS FOR SHARPENING ALWAYS FIND A SHARPENING SHOP THAT USES COMPUTER CONTROLLED EQUIPMENT AND WET GRINDS THE BLADES.
