Great protection, not oil-proof
These gloves are comfortable to wear, and provide great protection for your hands against heat, as well as cuts and scrapes. However, the gloves are advertised to be water and oil-proof and are not. The palms of the gloves are somewhat oil proof, however the blue backside is not oil-proof at all. The odds that you will get oil on the back of your fingers is pretty good, and you will likely end up with oily hands after a simple oil change. I recommend these gloves for simple mechanical work, however I suggest you wear some latex gloves over them during oil changes to protect your hands from oil.

Oil Resistant?
I don’t know if I am missing something, but this glove absorbed oil like a cloth during an oil change (my first use). It is supposed to be “oil resistant”.

Good dexterity, light weight
A good lightweight glove that provides dexterity. They will probably deteriorate too quickly if used for masonry work and heavy digging, but they are comfortable on both palm and back. They fit snug by design. These are a good value for the price and should be exceptionally well suited for carpenters, maybe gardners.
